They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra.
